If you want the ultimate weather package I'd recommend AS16+ASCA+ENVTEX. If you use REX you'll need to manually change the textures each time you fly, and the textures won't change with the weather (take off under blue skies, land under blue skies). I find the ENVTEX textures on par with what REX offers, and the integration with AS16+ASCA makes it hard to beat. I personally find this very cool.ĮNVTEX adds even more texture options AND it integrates with AS16+ASCA so those new textures can be injected dynamically into the sim as weather changes. ASCA automatically "injects" new textures into the sim as the weather changes. For example, if you take-off from a sunny airport you might get crisp blue sky and fluffy white clouds, but if the weather at your destination is bad you might land under grey skies with dark clouds. Jason Boche Assistant Chief Pilot, B767-300ĪctiveSky 16 (AS16) is the most sophisticated weather generation tool available, but it does not include any new textures to change the way clouds and other weather features LOOK.ĪctiveSky Cloud Art (ASCA) includes new textures to change how weather looks in the sim, and it also integrates those textures dynamically into the sim as the weather changes. I'll say just purchase the weather engine only and save the AS2016 texture money for the proper REX textures. Hifi Active Sky 2016 comes with 2 purchase options, one with just weather engine and one with the texture + weather engine. For the visuals (clouds, etc etc) go with the REX.

I use ASN (Active Sky Next), Pretty good but an FPS killer, recommend you play with the settings and find the good spot for your PC
